PROCESS This is a great learning tool to use in learning longitude and latitude. Students have many resources to use and to keep themselves busy with finding and locating places around the world. They may/can work in groups and they do have two additional assignments to complete on their own. 1. Find 5 places 2. Find one interesting fact about Geography that really stood out for you and share with the class. There are so many maps and resources that you can use for this and the website links are included. Enjoy the journey as your students begin theirs in learning why each place has a location number assigned to it! The goal of this webquest is to be able to locate longitude and latitude, as well as find as many intersting facts about geography as they can. RATIONALE: Your rationale for teaching this lesson is for the students to interact with technology. Once they are given their assignment, they are matching this to your objective and State Standards. In addition, you are teaching them how to understand copyrights and plagiarism. This creates an understanding among the students, the teacher and the internet, especially that there are terms and conditions that apply when using a Curriculum Web, but that there are also reasons for these instructional plans.
